She was excited for her cake today but while I was lighting the candle on it Talmage warned her very seriously about the candle being FIRE and that if you touch it it will BURN you. She was so scared by this that she wouldn't get near enough to blow it out. Finally I held her on my lap and reassured her that it wouldn't burn her while she blew it out. You gotta love brothers. The last warning he gave her was about knives. He told her that knives CUT you and that when you have a baby in your tummy they cut your stomach open to get it out (our friend just had a c-section). So later Aaron was cutting the crust off her sandwich for her and she kept saying "No cut tummy, baby come out" while shaking her head to emphasize she didn't want to be cut. Then she was saying "No cut fingie (finger), blood come out". She was nearly in tears so Aaron took her sandwich into the other room to cut the crust off while I tried to do damage control. Poor traumatized child. I guess Talmage has assured us of Anya staying away from knives and fire.

aww happy birthday Anya!!
What is it about that furry, red monster that has so many children in love with him? "Elbo" was one of Mia's first 2 syllable words and she had never seen him on TV. Now that she has, she'll actually sit still for 10 minutes. Yea! Anyway, yea for Anya's birthday and that she has a really cool Elmo!
