Fish Face

Anya had a visit with the Doctor today because she has a terrible cough. The Doctor said she was probably the sickest kid he'll see all day. Way to go Anya! She likes to impress the doctors. I felt horrible for not having her at the doctors earlier but she had been running around trying to do cartwheels just before going to her doctors appointment so I didn't think she was super sick. I was wrong, she was really sick. The doctor is pretty sure it is Asthma. Which is weird because that is usually genetic and we can't find it on either side of the family. The good thing is that it seems to be set off by colds or viruses, not by allergies. Every time she has had a problem it is following a cold or viral infection. So it's back to the daily nebulizer treatments. Anya has a cute fish shaped mask for it so that makes it a little more fun. But this time she is a little more difficult about it all. She is very much a two year old (her birthday is in a 9 days). One of her favorite phrases is "Ani (that's what she calls herself) do it". So she demands full control of "fish face". She is also more interested in the "smoke" that comes out of it and starts playing with it instead of breathing it.

With her added medicines we really look like a small pharmacy around here. It all appears to be inflammatory related though. I have inflammation in my joints and Anya has it in her lungs and airways. Sounds fun, huh. We are grateful for these medicines though, and the insurance that pays for them.

In spite of all your challenges it's so great that you have a wonderful sense of humor and can share that with all of us. I think your sense of humor was inherited from Grandpa Snook. Whoo-hoo something good came from this side of the family. :)
