Sunny February

We have had very dry and warm weather this month. We like the sunshine but could use some good rain to get things green. While Crystal's family was here we had to pull out the pool. It was a little windy and cooler that day but the kids had a lot of fun and Crystal managed to get a burn to take home.

After all the fun outside in the pool the kids decided to go for a horsey ride. Uncle Mike was so fun. Eventually Ivory got on too and he was hauling four kids around the living room. The kids miss having extended family to play with and I miss Mike sweeping my floor.

So Much Fun

We are having so much fun this week with Crystal's family visiting. The kids love playing with their cousins and everyone is getting along well. Last night we went to eat at Rudy's. Today we went to see the Alamo and the River Walk. The kids prefer playing at home or the park though.
All four kids outside the visitors center at the Alamo. Anya and Ivory happen to be wearing very similar shirts. Anya's is the Texas version while Ivory's is the Northwest version.

Anya and Diesel hugging on the River Walk.

We've had a few trips to Lowe's this week due to a water leak. This trip the kids got to go. Here is the girls cart.

And the boys cart. Talmage and Diesel just happened to both be wearing similar clothes this night and both insisted on wearing their hoods while driving the cart in the store. A few people have mistaken them for brothers already.

All four kids enjoyed looking at the BIG fish at Bass Pro Shops. You can see one of the big fish in this picture, at the top of the window. Creepy! But they loved it.

Who'll Drive It

It looks like I'm the driver. We didn't really discuss it. The kids love the car and it is a ton easier for me to drive because of the height. So Aaron drives the old car to work-- we really need to get the cruise control working again. I use the new car for trips to gymnastics and piano lessons. And if we go anywhere as a whole family, Aaron drives. Those of you who know him can understand why.

Our New Car

On Saturday we bought a new car. It is a Honda CR-V and it's the blue color you see in the picture. We wanted the green but alas it was a few thousand more. So we're liking blue. It's odd to be a two car family now. We have some work that needs to be done on our Buick and it will be so nice to drop it off and not worry about being without a car while the work is done on it. We are all enjoying the height of the CR-V. The kids love seeing more now that they sit higher, I can get in and out easier, and Aaron just likes being taller. I never thought we'd buy a new car because used seems to make financial sense but Aaron insisted on a new car (preferably Japanese) with an extended warranty because he has no car fixing abilities or desire to learn. So now that we've done our part to stimulate the economy we'll start pinching pennies again.
