This afternoon Talmage ran outside to go play in the backyard and then not even a minute later came back in exclaiming, "It's beastly hot out there, I'm not staying out." It has been in the 90's all week and humid so I can't blame him for not wanting to stay out but where did the expression beastly hot come from. I later found out that in one of the books Aaron read to him someone had a beastly temper and so he was trying out new ways of using the word beastly.
Then tonight after Talmage brushed his teeth, Aaron was helping Anya with hers and asked Talmage why there was water in the tube of toothpaste. Talmage told him "It's called Chemistry." Aaron then tried to explain about acceptable and unacceptable Chemistry-- like he's one to talk. So my 4 1/2 year old feels like he's lacking chemistry in his home school curriculum. I'm in trouble.

Tall Anya
Yesterday I was vacuuming and Aaron came downstairs to show me how tall Anya had suddenly grew. It was so funny I had to get a video of it to share. Talmage loves watching the video -- he laughs even harder watching it than he did while videoing it. Anya was wearing one of Aaron's shirts and Talmage had on a pair of Aaron's shorts. I was trying not to laugh because I was videoing and a lot closer to the microphone. But it was too funny so I sound like I'm crying instead of laughing.

Park Reunion
While in Washington we got to see a few friends. We met up with Carley and her two girls and Tarah and her daughter at Bradley Lake Park. We enjoyed watching our kids play and reminiscing a little about high school and filing each other in on who has married who.
The moms. We don't look like we've changed a whole lot since high school. I wonder if I'll be able to say that in another 10 years.

This is the girl Talmage tells me he's going to marry. She is 4 months younger and they have known each other all her life. He was so happy to be able to play with her again.

Here are all the kids. They had a lot of fun.
Taking the Ferry to See Grandma
I'm still posting pictures from our trip to Washington two weeks ago. We took a trip to see my Grandma Hymas. She lives on Whidbey Island so we took the ferry across. This was the kids first ferry trip. They loved it. We took these pictures on the front observation deck and happened to get another ferry in the background. Later a realized we should have taken pictures on the back observation deck so we wouldn't have had all the wind.

We Miss Cousins
The kids favorite part of our whole 12 day trip to Washington and Utah was playing their cousins. They miss them now that we are back and we miss having them entertain our kids.
Anya wearing her favorite purple feet-y pajamas and Diesel wearing her old purple flowered pajamas. They thought they were so funny running around in matching pajamas. (The pajamas were really for Diesel's little sister-- but they looked cute on him).
Talmage loved the dress up clothes at Rochelle and LaMar's house. Talmage is some cowboy, fairry hybrid and LaMar is the blue-blanky man or blue ghost depending on how he wears his blue blanket.
Anya and Rochelle loved playing princess dress up. Rochelle has a wonderful collection of princess dresses and accessories. You can tell they are related in this picture. They are only 8 months apart and would probably be good friends if we lived closer.
Here is a picture of the Kay cousins with there Great Grandma Yukish on Sophie's blessing day. Talmage has puppy and Rochelle has Moose.

We're Home
We got back from our trip safely. We had the help of the wind flying home and it cut off a total of 50 minutes of flight time. I was pleased. We've had much to do today and were up in the middle of the night with the biggest storm I've ever been in-- boy are we tired. I'll post pictures of the trip once I dig out the camera.
